Outdoor sirens for the JA‑10 system

Purpose and role

Outdoor sirens for the Jablotron JA‑10 act as both deterrent and alert: they make an intrusion obvious to neighbours and signal alarm events configured in the system. They can also indicate other system states beyond intrusions.

Selecting the right siren

JA‑10 offers wired BUS models and fully wireless battery-powered outdoor sirens. Wired BUS units provide continuous power and integration, while wireless units simplify installation where cabling is impractical.

When choosing, consider mounting location, exposure to weather, optical (LED) visibility and whether you need monitored tamper or mains-backed operation. Note that JA‑10 sirens are not interoperable with JA‑100+ devices.

  • Confirm compatibility with your JA‑10 control panel.
  • Decide between BUS (hardwired) or wireless units based on installation constraints.
  • Check tamper supervision and power/backup options.
  • Plan placement for visibility and sound propagation.

Installation tips

Coordinate the siren installation with the system configuration (PG outputs, section signalling and event types). Proper placement high on the façade improves deterrence and reduces vandalism risk.

Schedule periodic tests: inspect batteries for wireless models and check connectors and sealing of wired housings. For complex sites, use a certified installer to optimise coverage and compliance.
