Overview

The JA-187P is a wireless outdoor dual‑zone (curtain) PIR detector combining an Optex optical unit with a Jablotron radio transmitter for use in JABLOTRON 100 systems. It is optimised for narrow outdoor zones such as balconies, terraces and doorways.

The detector provides a narrow (curtain) detection field and selectable detection range to suit site requirements, with measures to reduce false alarms in challenging outdoor conditions.

Installation notes

Recommended mounting height is approximately 0.8–1.2 m for optimal zone overlap. Install on a vertical, stable surface and avoid pointing at moving vegetation or strong direct light sources. Switches on the unit allow sensitivity and operating mode adjustments to balance detection performance and immunity to false alarms.

Security functions

The unit supports anti‑masking detection and periodic self‑tests that report status to the control panel. Triple tamper contacts alert the system to cover opening or device removal.

JA-187P has been discontinued. If a replacement is required, select a current Jablotron compatible outdoor detector and verify technical specifications and compatibility with your control panel before installation.
