JA-180B – wireless acoustic glass‑break detector

The JA-180B is designed to detect breaking of glass panes and other glass surfaces inside buildings. It reacts to an air‑pressure change accompanied by the characteristic sound of breaking glass and applies digital signal processing to reduce false alarms.

Detection characteristics: the sensor has an approximately spherical detection pattern and can detect glass break up to 9 m under ideal conditions. The recommended minimum glass size is about 60 × 60 cm; smaller panes may reduce the effective detection range. The device is not suitable for detecting holes made with a glass cutter.

Installation and tuning: the detector is intended for mounting on a flat indoor surface. A trim control allows pressure‑sensitivity adjustment according to distance and the dimensions of protected windows. Avoid installation near strong noise sources, vibrating equipment or moving objects that could generate shock waves. A tamper contact protects against unauthorized removal.

Power and communication: JA-180B is powered by a lithium battery LS(T)14500 (3.6 V / 2.4 Ah); battery is not supplied. Typical battery lifetime is about 3 years in normal use. Wireless communication operates on 868.1 MHz using the JABLOTRON protocol with an approximate open‑area range of 100 m.

Compatibility and standards: the detector is intended for integration with the JABLOTRON 100 system and registers in the system as a single wireless device. It complies with relevant standards for intruder alarm devices (EN 50131‑1, EN 50131‑2‑7‑1, EN 50131‑5‑3 Grade II) and applicable radio and EMC regulations.

Recommendations:

  • Mount on a stable indoor wall facing the protected glass.
  • Adjust sensitivity with the trimmer to match window size and distance.
  • Consider complementary PIR sensors or alarm delay if installation area has frequent noise or pressure changes.
