Overview

The JA-162PW-GR is a wireless dual motion detector combining passive infrared (PIR) and microwave (MW) sensors to minimise false alarms. The detector only sends an alarm to the control panel after a PIR detection is confirmed by the MW sensor according to the selected internal settings.

Lens and light immunity

The -GR variant is supplied with a grey lens that offers increased white-light immunity (up to 10,000 lux), reducing spurious triggers caused by car headlights, reflections, or direct sunlight.

Detection characteristics and installation

PIR coverage: 110° / 12 m. MW coverage: 90° / 12 m. The MW sensor can in some cases detect movement behind non-metallic obstacles (glass, doors, partitions); therefore always verify coverage on-site. Recommended mounting height is 2.5 m above floor level; corner installation typically gives the best MW performance. Avoid mounting close to large metal objects or in areas with frequent moving objects that could cause unwanted activations.

Compatibility and enrollment

Compatible with JA-101K, JA-102K, JA-103K, JA-106K, JA-107K and JA-152KRY control panels (Jablotron 100+). Enrollment requires the panel to include a JA-11xR radio module and is performed via F-Link software. The detector indicates enrollment status by LED when batteries are inserted; a stabilization phase of up to three minutes follows initial power-up.

Power and maintenance

Power supply: 2 × CR123A lithium batteries (3 V / 1500 mAh). Typical battery life ≈ 4 years. Low battery is reported at < 2.7 V; replace batteries within two weeks of the LowBatt report. Follow the control panel/F-Link procedures for safe battery replacement.

  • Wall holder: JA-196PL-L; swivel bracket: JA-191PL (with additional tamper contact); spare grey lens: JS-7920.
  • Communication band: 868.1 MHz (Jablotron protocol). MW operational frequency: 24.125 GHz. Communication range approx. 300 m in open area.

Security classification: grade 2 / environmental class II. Certificates: Trezor Test s.r.o., Kiwa. The product meets applicable EN/ETSI standards. Check local regulations for MW use (restrictions may apply in some countries).
