SD-283ST is a combined detector that integrates an optical smoke sensor and an A1-class heat sensor. It signals danger with a built-in siren and LED and provides ALARM and TMP outputs; the ALARM contact can be set NO or NC while TMP is always NC.

The detector is powered from 9–15 V DC (typ. 3.5 mA quiescent, 150 mA during alarm) or from 3× AA alkaline batteries when stand‑alone operation is required. Configuration terminals allow selecting smoke/heat modes, alarm memory, siren enable/disable, battery detection and contact polarity.

The optical chamber responds well to dense smoke containing larger particles, while the heat sensor covers scenarios with low smoke production. The built-in siren can be silenced by pressing the detector against its base (silence for 10 minutes); a postponed reactivation mode of up to 12 hours is available.

Installation should follow project documentation and applicable standards; avoid mounting near ventilation outlets, in kitchens, dusty or insect-prone areas, outdoors or under very high ceilings. Installation and configuration should be performed by qualified personnel.
