Product overview

The SD-503ST is a stand-alone combined smoke (photoelectric) and heat detector by JABLOTRON. It signals alarms with a built-in LED indicator and an internal siren. The unit is designed for early fire detection in residential and small commercial spaces and can be installed in caravans and mobile homes.

The detector's photoelectric chamber is sensitive to larger particulate matter present in dense smoke; the heat sensor covers scenarios with limited smoke production. For reliable detection mount the device on the ceiling (centre preferred) and keep it at least 0.5 m from walls or other obstructions. The SD-503ST is not intended for industrial environments.

Operation and maintenance

Test the detector at least once per month following the manufacturer instructions. A dedicated test mode is available (enter by pressing the detector to its base as described in the manual) or use an approved test spray/hot air source; never test with an open flame. If alarm memory is enabled, the unit retains the alarm indication until acknowledged.
